Blood. It consumed his senses. His eyelids fluttered open slowly. The echos of the dead and dying were all around him. Crimson streaks ran down his face, his still human heart raced. Something had hit him, or was it the floor? Pain racked his body as he forced himself up to a stand. Then there wa fire. Bright, warm, oddly welcoming, yet deadly. He was dying, and for the briefest of moments he considered letting the flames consume him...

No. That meant giving up.

He turned, coming around a corner of the partially collapsed house to run headlong into a tall ominous figure. As he met the gleaming orbs of the vampire, he just grinned. Vampire before him, flames at his back. Fate, it seemed, was not always kind.

His attack is halted so abruptly that his body continued forward. His body pressed against Alucard's even as his weapon was held away from him. A cold chill ran down his spine as the great vampire leaned down. There was no time to scream. A grotesque sound more akin to struggle left the man's throat as his free hand reached up, fingers curling into those raven locks. He tugged hard on Alucard's hair, but it wasn't to push away. The more pain racked his body, the harder he held on until finally weakness prevailed and his body fell limp into the vampire's embrace.

Blood - it curls around his tongue, slides hot down his throat. There is not beat to his heart, not any longer, but if it could, it would be thrumming fast. One last tug of his mouth and the vampire lifts his head with a satisfied hiss, one arm curled around the man who can no longer stand. Burning eyes look down as if almost daring Eric to die now.

"Remember. This was your choice."
