The freaks were everywhere. It was a sullen hunting ground for the Ancient Vampire and his youthful protege', almost not worth the effort. These creatures were mindless ruffians, unknowing of how to be a vampire, let alone simply a monster. It was a bloodbath. Extermination at its finest.
In the end, the two vampires exited the structure. Alucard had a frown upon his visage, and Seras was lurking behind the angsty vampiric Lord. Soldiers ran in around them to clean up the bodies and to dispose of them so not to allow any further infection. Integra stood stoically, observing, even after her servants strode past her to head home.
Yet there was one they had missed. It seemed improbable, no impossible, that Alucard would miss a vampire hiding among the ashes. Seras could be possible but surely not the immeasurable No Life King. Yet a set of gleaming eyes caught the soldiers attentions and the sound of shouts littered the ruin.
Alucard turned, his brows furrowing. Seras' lips parted to impart a question, but before she could speak Alucard disappeared into shadow to return to the scene of the crime.
He reappeared, looking over the figure that had been partially buried in debris. Those hard crimson eyes narrowed upon the figure as he slowly pushed himself up, only to be taken down by the soldiers who bent his arms back and handcuffed him. The stench of death was around him, let Alucard swore he could hear the sound of a beating heart.
A sharp cry and an odious amount of foul language escaped the young man's thin lips. His long hair was loose, disheveled. His clothing was torn. The air around him spoke that he appeared to be homeless. Perhaps he had been in the wrong place at the wrong time, and Hellsing kept him from becoming a meal for the undead.
With a low grumble, Alucard departed the scene. The soldiers could handle this.

He was taken back to Hellsing, put in a medical ward, and warned not to even attempt escape at the behest of his own life. He seemed cooperative, especially when food was offered. The fact he ate, and kept the simple sandwich and glass of milk down was a promising result given the wounds on his throat and body.
Then the Queen of this Castle entered. She walked in regally, in a fine suit. The young man paused in his consumption of the sandwich, setting it down and brushing the crumbs off of his face in an attempt to be polite. "Tha...thank---"
"Who are you and why were you in that place?" Integra cut him off.
Okay so much for a warm reception. She was just as militaristic as her police were. "My name is Eric Harker, not that that matters." He shrugged his shoulders. "I was there because I had no where else to go. You know, it's rather cold out, and I wasn't expecting a party to show up." Gleaming blue eyes stared up at her. Those eyes the same as Mina's centuries before.
Integra piqued a finely curved brow. "A Harker you say? Alucard are you hearing this?"
His appearance beside her out of the gloom was enough of an answer.
Eric wanted to shrink down into the bed he was sitting on. His food suddenly went forgotten as he lost his appetite. The way he simply stared at Alucard. Horrified bright blue eyes as the world around him blurred....
...."Mommy!" The child screamed as his mother scooped him up. Screams and gunshots were heard outside.
"Do not leave this place, no matter what happens." She hushed him as she set him in the bottom of the antechamber, pulling clothing down atop him along with light boxes. She turned when she heard the sound of soldiers kicking in the door. "I will always love you." She leaned in for a quick kiss before pulling a shirt over his head and running out the door towards oblivion.
He heard the screech of her voice, the sound of dying soldiers, and then one frighteningly loud gunshot before silence.
Tears ran down his face as he remained huddled in the clothing. He removed the shirt from his face just enough to see beyond the open closet door. Soldiers came in, looking around, upturning furniture. Surely they would locate him. Then the man in black came in with those haunting eyes, and cruel laughing smile. His gaze swept the room before befalling on that set of terrified ice blue eyes....
....Tears ran down his face, his hands shaking as he suddenly pushed himself off of the bed and leaped past Integra. "MURDERER!!!" He shrieked, pounding on Alucard's chest as though to battle the vampire would do any good. The IV ripped from his arm, blood ran down pale flesh, dripping to the ground.
Integra pulled the gun she carried from its holster and leveled it on Eric's head. "I do suggest you sit down Mr. Harker."
Eric turned his head to look at Integra, his fists still against Alucard's chest. However the young Harker didn't seem in too much of a hurry to end his life when he was thinking clearly. However you had to give the young man props on how boldly he had gone after Alucard. He moved past her, back to his hospital bed and sat down, trying not to glare at the nurse who came up to him to re affix his IV.
"We will speak again when you have found your manners." Integra said coldly as she turned, departing the Medical ward. Whether Alucard stayed or went, she left at the great vampires volition.

A few days passed before she had sent Walter to collect the young man. He was given fresh clothes, much like he had been in before, and his presence requested... no, it was demanded, behind an air of civility. Walter escorted Eric up to Integra's office.
It was there he stood before her, a frown on his visage, but he held his tongue. Barely.
"Eric Harker, are you aware of in which residence you are now in?" Her voice inquired calmly.
Eric looked around the room, his gaze falling upon the crest. That all too familiar sigil. "You must me Miss Hellsing." He let out a sigh, now understanding why THAT man was in her service. He had better mind his manners if he wanted to get out of here alive. He bowed to her, more politely. Then he felt an ominous shadow falling over him. When he stood up he turned slowly to look up at that man. THAT man.
He turned to Integra, his eyes gleaming, the pain obvious. "Why...? WHy is HE here?" He pointed at Alucard. "Or do you delight in tormenting me with the presence of the killer of my family?"
"Do calm yourself Mr. Harker. Your behavior is quite unbecoming for your heritage." She lit a cigar, debating how to break the news to him. "The destruction of your family was a decision by my Father. I cannot speak fully for his decisions, however, I can tell you that your family were seen as a threat. As I recall the order was to destroy the entirety of the Harker Family." She gave Alucard a pointed glare. "However you were spared."
That seemed to knock Eric's rage down a notch or two as he looked away from them both. "Why...?"
"That, you will have to take up with him." She gestured to the great vampire who loomed over him.
He turned once more to look up at Alucard, he couldn't ask the monster. Not here. Not in front of her. Finally he returned his gaze to Integra. "Perhaps another time if you will allow it..."
"Very well. You are excused." She watched as Eric exited the room, and then turned back to Alucard. "What game are you playing with that boy?"
